Abstract

Nanog is essential for embryonic stem cells (ESCs) to regulate selfrenewal and promote cell proliferation as well as to maintain its pluripotent state. Recently, some studies have suggested that Nanog was expressed in human tumors and stem cells, which lay a foundation to further explore its role in biological behaviour of tumor and imply that Nanog may regulate tumor development as an important therapeutic target.
