Abstract:

Casticin, a ploymethoxyflavanoid casticin, possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties. It is one of the major active components from Chinese herbal simpleleaf shrub chastetree fruit. This review summarized the research progress in casticin, in which the source, the relation between structure and activity, the anti-tumor effects and the underlying mechanisms were included. The main purpose of this review is to provide information for the ani-tumor effect of casticin and the potential clinical application.

Keywords: Casticin   structure-activity relationship;anti-tumor effects;mechanism of action
